ABODE lines-up underground's finest for home stretch

After verifiable House legend Armand Van Helden rocked the joint in July, here's who's coming up.

Much as we hate to admit it, closing parties are now very much on our radar. With August drawing to a close, the bulk of summer is done. That doesn't mean things are slowing down in Clubland though. Take ABODE at Eden as a prime example.

Already this summer, the Sunday Tech House party has brought in veterans such as Steve Lawler, Mark Knight and Yousef. These familiar names have been placed alongside rising talent like Max Dean, Late Replies, Florentia and Jenn Getz & Alfie, with line-ups covering old and new.

Armand Van Helden | ABODE | Eden

Last month, verifiable House legend Armand Van Helden rocked the joint. Those who were in attendance will tell you that the dance music royal left a permanent impression on San Antonio. What a coup for holidaymakers to catch such a decorated name in our humble town.

Fair to say, that catching an artist of that stature on this side of the island doesn't happen too often.

Don't be too disappointed if you missed him. ABODE has plenty more aces up its sleeve. We might be entering the home stretch, but the party doesn't take its foot off the peddle when it comes to booking interesting names. Here are our highlights from the next four weeks.

Coming up at ABODE

Max Chapman | 27 August

Starting tonight, a cheeky chappy we can't overlook is Max Chapman. One of the most respected producers in the game, Max runs Resonance Records alongside George Smeddles. He's also released music on ABODE Records and is a familiar face at the parties.

Down-to-earth and, arguably, deserving of a higher public profile, Max is picked on his ear for a track and his undeniable prowess in the studio. Even if you don't know the name, you'll definitely know the music.

Also on the bill: Latmun, Route 94 and Will Taylor

Noizu | 3 September

Our next pick is an eyebrow-raiser, mainly because he hasn't yet amassed many Ibiza bookings. This being his only confirmed date of summer on the island in 2023. Noizu is a UK-born, LA-based DJ and producer who has already enjoyed commercial success.

Noizu shot to everybody's attention with his anthemic sing-along hit Summer '91 (Looking Back). Although released two years ago, it's still very much doing the damage on the dancefloor and could be considered a modern-day Ibiza classic. It's the perfect summer holiday track.

Also on the bill: Secondcity, Leftwing:Kody and GW Harrison

Lee Foss | 10 September

Returning to the scene of his long-awaited Ibiza return is enigmatic Lee Foss.

After a hiatus spanning ten years, Eden was chosen as the backdrop to end Lee's fabled exile. As an A&R man, he's constantly working, signing music to labels Repopulate Mars, South Of Saturn and North Of Neptune. He can also be credited for helping progress the career of John Summit.

Although ultimately, Repopulate Mars didn't come back for a second year, we rather feel like the statement was made. Lee is always good value. With a debut artist album in the works, it's clear he's currently spreading his creative wings, so who can tell what he'll have in store for us?

Also on the bill: Detlef, Javi Bora and Banksie

Darius Syrossian | 17 September

From toiling in record shops to playing intimate after hours, Darius Syrossian lives and breathes the culture. Only a fortnight ago, we went to Eden to see Darius submit a knock-out set. That's pretty much the only motivation we need to get down to see him again.

In fact, we can't recall a single sub-par set delivered by his hand. Darius is mister consistent and never lets us down.

Also on the bill: Max Chapman, Leftwing:Kody and Ellie Cocks
