Before the internet came along and gazumped traditional media, there was an era of innocence and better kept secrets in clubland and House music in general. Instead, clubbers were kept informed of the parties, players and producers by the kindly folk at Faith Fanzine.
Running from 1999 to 2006, Faith Fanzine was part of the pioneering first wave of free DIY dance music publications. It offered an alternative outlook to the likes of glossy Mixmag and DJ Mag, and arguably influenced them in the process.
After a 14 year hiatus, Defected Records ressurected Faith in 2020 with original contributors Terry Farley, Stuart Patterson and Dave Jarvis back onboard. Still in print, still honest and informative, and still with a cult following, little has changed from the initial run.
Now its protagonists, Terry, Stuart and Dave, are heading back to Ibiza. The trio of House heroes will be presiding over the Club Room at Hï Ibiza for Glitterbox in little under two weeks. To give us a taste of what to expect, they have generously submitted a playlist takeover just for us.
Faith Fanzine's House playlist takeover
DJ Spen presents Jasper St Company | A Feeling (Farley & Heller Remix) | GRAND Music
"Big revival tune for myself (and many others), wicked tribal groove and timeless gospel
vocals."
Made By Pete | Horizon Red | Crosstown Rebels
"Sensual Afro vibes with wicked percussion and uplifting melodies - for people who dance
from the waist down."
Floorplan | We Give Thee Honor | Classic Music Co.
"You know the drill already. Thumping bottom end, gospel vocals and a piano riff to die for.
No stopping this vibe."
Eddie Fowlkes | AHYEE | Classic Music Co.
"Bumping underground Detroit House music. Great spoken word party starter."
Masters At Work | MAW Apes Groove | MAW Records
"Holy grail stuff from Louie Vega and Kenny Dope. You can almost smell the baby powder on
the Sound Factory bar floor as the dancers spin and drop."
Cevin Fisher | Love You Some More (Harry Romero Remix) | Faith Recordings
"More '90s revival. This time Harry beefs up a classic from the Danny Tenaglia school of deep
tribal."

Keep your eyes and ears open for Harry Romero's remix of Roach Motel's Wild Luv, which is the next release landing on Faith Recordings on Friday 26 May. This is well-timed, seeing as the Faith Fanzine trio mosey on down to Glitterbox two days later.
Terry, Stuart and Dave bring their deep record boxes to Hï Ibiza's Club Room for a full Faith Fanzine takeover on Sunday 28 May.
That's sure to not only be entertainment, but an education. Keep the faith!
There they'll be joined by distinguished guests Luke Solomon, Illustrious Blacks, Mafalda, Michelle and Natasha Diggs for what might be one of the best nights of summer, musically. Tickets for that party and the rest of Glitterbox's Sunday programme can be picked up below.
