The best new hotels we can’t wait to check into 2023

The Ibizan hospitality industry gets its annual refresh.

Every year more is invested in raising the standard of hospitality on Ibiza and it always throws up the tantalising prospect of us visiting new or upgraded hotels when the wraps finally come off.

Here are a few of the freshest venues opening in the spring of 2023, ready for the new season, that we can't wait to pick up the keys for.

City Centre Chic

Ocean Drive Ibiza

Talamanca/Marina Botafoc

Completely refurbished over the winter, this Ibiza institution is now cooler than ever! New decor and furnishings take Ocean Drive Ibiza's distinctive Art Deco vibe to a new level while the addition of extra space in the lobby and a Listening Corner - replete with comfy sofas and various headsets that make it possible to share the musical experience with your friends.

Upgrades to its legendary OD Sky Bar will satisfy the hotel's many electronic music devotees as the launchpad for a pre-club cocktail.

The fresh makeover ensures that Ocean Drive Ibiza remains a unique place to stay at the very heart of the action!

Oaks Ibiza Hotel

Ibiza Town

Slated to open in time for the 2023 season is the Oaks Ibiza Hotel, situated just a block from Vara De Rey in the city's heart. Visitors will be able to enjoy the local amenities on foot, including boutiques, restaurants, lively bars, and clubs that are open year-round.

With a back-to-brick refurb, the hotel promises to be a great attraction for lovers of the metropolitan lifestyle. If the initial renderings are to go by, the modern design will be integrated into the historic surroundings in a boldly stylish way - rather like its close neighbour, the recently opened The Standard.

M Hotel

San Antonio

M Hotel is a fresh, modern town centre hotel that is located in a quiet area at the back of San Antonio. Fully renovated in a cool, contemporary style, it includes a rooftop pool that stretches the width of the building - meaning fitness fans can get their lengths in early!

Definitely one for travellers who have high standards but want to step back a little from the hustle and bustle of the more touristic zones. Nevertheless, the town centre attractions and the famous Sunset Strip remain within walking distance.

Beachside Sophistication

El Somni Ibiza Dream Hotel by Grupotel

Cala San Vicente

Opening at the end of May is possibly the most sensational makeover of them all – El Somni on the beach of Cala San Vicente. Translating as ‘The Dream’ in Catalan, surrealist art flourishes all around the sweeping curves of the hotel’s communal areas and spa. If the design renderings are to be believed, guests will be enchanted by influences from Dali, Escher and Magritte, including life-size giraffes and handshake door knobs!

Elsewhere, the bedrooms are swathed in calming, natural sea and mountain tones and the A la carte restaurant promises Mediterranean cuisine supervised by a chef who has earnt a Michelin star.

Stunningly original! We can’t wait to find out more...

Mongibello Ibiza

Santa Eulalia

If there's one hotel on Ibiza that will epitomise the classic Italian art of laid-back luxury living, it's Mongibello Ibiza. Ultra-chic and superbly situated with private beach access, this adults-only retro-style establishment will woo holidaymakers in search of La Dolce Vita.

Located in the resort of Siesta, close to Santa Eularia des Riu, (not on the Italian Riviera!) it will offer its privileged guests a wealth of exclusive features including high-class gastronomy and cocktails and even a secret bar - Lola’s – that takes you back in time to Ibiza in its 1960s heyday. Just pull up in your Alfa Romeo Spider and hand over the keys to the concierge.

AMA Ibiza Beachfront Suites

Playa d'en Bossa

Fully renovated for summer ‘23, the sophisticated AMA Ibiza Beachfront Suites are decorated in soft pastel tones and feature classy furnishings. Overlooking the Mediterranean, the outside pool area is stylish and cool - just perfect for sipping cocktails while enjoying one of the regular DJ sessions.

Their situation is ideal - just minutes away from the world-famous nightclubs, yet quiet enough to ensure you can chill out. Step out onto the promenade and it will lead you to Playa den Bossa's many charms should you wish to venture beyond the comfy new surroundings.

San Antonio Bay

Ryans Lola’s

Cala de Bou

The latest addition to the vividly colourful and highly sociable chain of Ryans Hotels, Lola’s will bring another fun holiday hangout for young-at-heart adults - this time to the Bay area of San Antonio.

Ryans Hotels are all about the “Happenings” and Lola's is guaranteed to offer schedules packed with live music, DJs, pool parties and fun events all centred around the vibrant pool area. Are you ready to become a member of the R-Public community and meet new friends for life?

THE Palm Star

Cala de Bou

Following the success of the popular formula of the Beach Star and Coral Star Hotels in San Antonio Bay, The Palm Star will be the newest member of the Star chain to launch, offering more of the same laid-back poolside vibes and personal service that fans have come to love.

Sure to be a great option if you’re travelling with a group of friends or just looking to meet new ones, it is all about one thing – the atmosphere. You can chill by the palm-fringed pool while sipping a daiquiri or piña colada, soaking up the sunshine and the famous Star soundtrack laid down by resident DJs Tony and Dave.
