Ibiza is back in the game. Our highly-anticipated 2022 season is right around the corner. Crowds are set to soar over the next six months. At present, all focus falls on the big opening weekend, starting Friday 29 April and continuing all weekend.

With the weather improving day-by-day, the news that compulsory use of masks indoors is now scrapped and parties starting to sell-out, we can tell summer is almost here.

What better time than now to catch those last minute flights for a spontaneous trip to The White Isle?

Thursday 28 April | Octan opening party

Calling all minimal lovers - Octan's got your back with its Opening Party!

The underground club really understood the assignment with this line-up. Apollonia behemoth Dan Ghenacia takes over the venue's Basement for the night, alongside Romanian heavyweight Praslea. This carefully selected duo is the perfect combo for the club's earliest start yet.

Not only is the line-up down to a tee, this venue is perfectly located for those of you staying in

Playa d'en Bossa this verano. Its raw and gritty atmosphere is the ideal space to host this underground line-up and lure you back to the dancefloor.

fRIDAY 29 aPRIL | dEFECTED OPENING PARTY

Defected truly is the label that encompasses the essence of House music. From old school classics to today's trendy tunes, you know exactly what to expect when it comes to Defected's dancefloor at Eden.

Friday 29 April's opening party boasts original House music DJs, OG's Darius Syrossian, Hannah Wants and Riva Starr - the stars of the label's 2022 launch. A certified no-brainer for those on the island at this time.

sATURDAY 30 aPRIL | cLASSIC mUSIC CO. AT oCTAN

Branching off from its mainstream tag, Classic Music Co. is one of Defected's many sub-labels. Essentially serving as an after party to Defected Dalt Vila, this one-off el classico nighttime party takes place at Octan.

This is a fiesta for those who know their music and have the desire to delve back into those classic soulful sounds. Original pioneer of House music, Derrick Carter headlines the night alongside Dan Shake. The UK DJ has put an unrivalled stamp on the genre over the last few years with his worldly productions and sought-after sets. 

Although this one is a wholesome €15, should you have the budget to be a little extravagant, save money with a combo ticket to both Dalt Vila and Octan. YOLO!

Sunday 1 May | Es Paradis Opening Party

Es Paradis, one of the original Ibizan clubs, paves the way for the extended season on 1 May with its Opening Party. Expect extravagant production and a plethora of performers inside the club's iconic white interior from 22:00 through till sunrise.

This party showcases the authentic sounds of Ibiza, with born and bred DJs. David Moreno, Bruno From Ibiza, Felix da funk and Danny O being the names in question.

Why go? Wow at the club's talented cast of dancers and performers, check-out the mini refit, appreciate the architecture of the world's most beautiful club, strong island and industry turnout


O Beach | All weekend

You're on Ibiza and it would be a shame not to make the most of the outdoor weather. It might still be early season, but O Beach will be utilising our favourable climate with pool parties across the weekend.

Friday and Saturday fall under the in-house series of events suitably referred to as Poolside Sessions, while Sunday is a bit more special. Repent your misgivings at Sin Sundays. As the saying goes: "Good girls go to heaven, but bad girls go to Ibiza!"

Whichever day you visit, enjoy upbeat House music by quality DJs and instrumentalists, alongside some incredible production, acrobatics and entertainment - all for €20.


Akasha | All weekend

Ibiza's newest nightlife addition, Akasha, is a must-visit this summer. Set to be the new local of the locals, expand your circle and connect your soul with islands residents, hippy settlers and those in the know. Akasha attracts a knowledgeable, but passionate crowd of music lovers.

The intimate club space at Las Dalias in the north of the island is open from Thursday through to Sunday. Perhaps you might assume you won't know any of the names who play there? Think again.

Sasha (28 April), Behrouz and Rodriguez Jr (both 29 April) are a few guests this weekend, while Las Dalias staple party Namaste takes root on Sunday 1 May. Keep an eye out for our preview.

Undoubtedly, we're spoilt for choice when it comes to this years opening weekend. With the return of International Music Summit, the island is inundated with both official and unofficial satellite events (some of them free). What are you waiting for? It's never too late for Ibiza.
