Eden and Es Paradis share the pre-season spoils in San Antonio

While Akasha continues to look after clubbers in the north.

Are you ready for Ibiza clubbing to return properly? To be honest, we're on the edge of our seat in excitement. In little over a week, we'll once again be dancing at Amnesia, Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa, Pacha and the rest.

You might think that in the meantime the island is pretty quiet. While it's true it's not quite summer in terms of both weather and tourist numbers, things are happening. In particular, San Antonio has given us a taste of things to come.

Last weekend, both the town's big clubs were open, in addition to well-attended beachside concert La Movida.

Free beach concert La Movida roared with several thousand gathering on S'Arenal

Featuring hits of the '80s and '90s, the outdoor party proved popular with families and the older generation alike, with flame throwers and lasers shooting into the darkness of night.

On the other side of the road, Eden continued its run of off-season Saturday parties with its busiest one to date. Having already delivered the likes of Darius Syrossian and De La Swing earlier in year, the club stacked more talent for its latest offering.

Tech House kingpins Detlef, Sidney Charles and Manu Gonzalez were assembled for a night of top music played on a notoriously loud sound system.

A large contingent of students and budget travellers from mainland Spain and elsewhere in Europe are currently here, making the most of the Easter break and low-season prices. Up for some dance action, they were all too pleased to throw their support behind Eden's party plans. You would be forgiven for thinking it was peak summer inside.

Lots of flagging bodies at poolside and various reports of ringing ears the next morning tell their own story, while the DJs all got their dues.

Eager not to miss out on the action, neighbouring Es Paradis also opened their doors the following day. Local party outfit Keep On Dancing had a nice early 17:00 start, which meant we got to party with the roof down.

If Eden had been for the out-of-towners, then K.O.D was for the locals with a strong Spanish turnout.

Giving us a glimpse of what lies in store with new weekly additions Release and Lotusland, in felt good to dance with sun beaming in onto the dancefloor.

We also saw the cosmetic changes that Es Paradis has made since it last opened. Read more about these here.

For intrepid clubbers heading north...

It hasn't just been about San Antonio, of course. In the north, Akasha continues to caters to clubbers in more remote resorts.

The club at Las Dalias in San Carlos put on an exceptional Easter programme from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday itself. Roy Rosenfeld and Oceanvs Orientalis played with music director Igor Marijuán across Friday and Saturday, while venue favourite Ethereal went day-to-night to close the extended weekend.

We were lucky enough to attend on Thursday, where DJs Shimza, Darque and David Mayer took us on a musical journey through tribal and deep tones.

Next weekend is no less enticing, with Prog master Nick Warren on Friday, Luna City Express headlining Saturday and international promoter The Gardens Of Babylon back for its second event. Find the full list of happenings at Akasha here, including an upcoming date with Sasha.
