International Music Summit returns in 2022 after 2-year hiatus

The music business conference is back next April with some interesting tweaks.

Following two consecutive years of postponements, International Music Summit (IMS) is finally set to dock at Destino Pacha Resort in 2022.

The electronic music business conference was originally due to launch at the Cap Martinet hotel in 2020. Making up for lost time, IMS moves a month earlier than tradition to 27 to 29 April.

The much-delayed thirteenth edition will be co-presented by IMS founder Pete Tong MBE and rising BBC Introducing hostess, Jaguar and has been dubbed In Pursuit Of Purpose.

Jaguar said of the news, "Co-hosting IMS 2022 is a dream come true. I've learnt so much from attending over the years and I feel strongly about opening doors for my generation. I’m excited to head up forward-thinking conversations and inspire new artists."

Aside from a new face chairing proceedings, another interesting change sees IMS adopt a "no panel policy."

Instead, focus shifts from celebrity discussion to a series of keynotes, lectures, workshops and sessions led by industry thought-leaders.

The carefully crafted three-day agenda also includes speed networking, wellness platform The Art of ARETÉ villa retreat, the IMS Legends dinner, Point Blank education hub, and, of course, IMS Grand Finale in the ancient walls of Ibiza's old town, Dalt Vila.

shesaid.so, Pioneer DJBye Bye Plastic, EarthPercent and the Association For Electronic Music are back as partners in their respective fields.

2022 co-host Jaguar was one of the most passionate contributors at IMS 2019

Committed to being an agent of positive change, IMS will introduce a five percent levy to all 2022 tickets to off-set the event's carbon footprint, of which it will match the financial contribution.

We're sure there will be more IMS news in the new year, including Grand Finale announcements and maybe some earlier than usual opening parties around the same dates - so stayed tuned!
