Picture the scene.
It’s Saturday morning and you are waking up in a warm and comfy bed as squishy as a marshmallow. Still half-asleep, the gentle sound of violin music drifts into your ear, so you leave your cosy cocoon and pad over to the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Pulling away the curtains the sunlight hits your eyes and the view, high up from 400 metres above sea level, takes your breath away. Framed by majestic cliffs that drop straight into the deep blue sea, you are soaking up one of Ibiza’s most spectacular sights.
This is what it feels like to wake up in paradise. This is what it feels like to wake up at one of the White Isle’s most romantic hotels, the beautiful Hacienda Na Xamena.
In a bid to encourage island lovers to explore Ibiza in the low season, owner Alvar Lypszic and his wife Sabina are inviting guests to enjoy a ‘glamorous weekend in November’ with a special experience package that will be available until the end of the month.
The offering is part of a new philosophy that Alvar describes as “travelling against the stream”, one that encourages guests of the five-star hotel to switch off, embrace a slower pace of life, reconnect with nature and discover a more authentic side to Ibiza.
It’s an invitation to travel slow, to allow yourself the time to settle into your surroundings and enjoy each element that makes up this blissful escape from reality.
In the morning, this includes the offer of a gentle yoga session followed by a walk along the rugged coastline and through the fragrant pine forest that surround the hotel.
Once more, let the sound of the violin lead you: this time to Hacienda Na Xamena’s secret vegetable garden.
Filled with lemon trees and rows of strawberries, pumpkins, tomatoes and fresh herbs, it is guarded by friendly ‘scarecrows’ dressed in traditional Ibicencan ‘payes’ farmer’s costumes.
Here, a smorgasbord of local delicacies awaits!
A well-deserved feast after your walk, sample a generous variety of local meats, cheeses, olives and breads with views over the forest-covered valley and the church of Sant Miguel on the horizon.
Over the course of the weekend, there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the spectacular wellness facilities at the hotel. If a dip in the beautiful outdoor pool seems too daunting in November, there is a heated indoor alternative that will embrace you like a warm hug after facing the elements outside.
Hacienda Na Xamena’s onsite spa La Posidonia also offers a cosy haven to escape any temperamental autumn weather. Treat yourself to a rejuvenating facial or relaxing massage and return to reality looking and feeling your very best!
Music is a key element of the experience. Curated by renowned Spanish composer Rafael Cavestany, every weekend has a different musical programme and features a variety of international artists.
From Broadway standards to fiery tango and smooth jazz, enjoy live performances during dinner in the atmospheric restaurant while sampling an elaborate tasting menu of modern European cuisine.
As the evening draws to a close, the concerts continue in Hacienda Na Xamena’s oasis-like bar area, where guests can enjoy a nightcap of expertly mixed cocktails and premium spirits.
Last, but not least, no visit to Hacienda Na Xamena will be complete without experiencing the ‘Cascadas Suspendidas’ hydrotherapy pools, an assortment of eight different basins with massage jets and Jacuzzi bubbles situated on the edge of the cliffs.
As Alvar told us, guests have literally travelled from the other side of the world to see the spectacular views in the privacy of this spectacular spa area, which is accessible to both hotel guests and outside visitors - but only with a reservation.
Making the most of the November sunshine, spending a winter weekend at Hacienda Na Xamena you’ll be as close to heaven – quite literally – as you’ll ever be on Ibiza!
