Brian Eno is the first keynote interviewee at IMS 2020

Addressing the climate emergency via video link on 20 May.

Pioneering artist and committed environmental activist Brian Eno has been unveiled for the first keynote interview of International Music Summit (IMS) 2020.

Widely considered the curtain-raiser to the season, IMS celebrates its 13th edition this summer with a move to Destino.

The industry conference and networking event takes place from 20 to 22 May.

Brian Eno's interview is the first confirmed part of the schedule, although the topics of mental health, diversity and inclusivity are expected to feature heavily once more.

He'll open day one of this year's conference by speaking with co-founder Pete Tong.

Known for his experimental creative streak, Eno rose to fame as the synthesizer player of innovative glam rockers Roxy Music.

Later in his career, he grew a name for being one of the forefathers of ambient music.

More recently, he has become known as a campaigner on several fronts - an advocate for humanitarian and environmental causes.

The EarthPercent trustee will use the platform to impress urgency in the climate emergency.

Switching things up, Brian will be appearing via video link as opposed to in-person, owing to his self-imposed flight ban for all but essential travel.

Further IMS news, including details on the Grand Finale party, is expected soon. Stayed tuned to our magazine feed or subscribe to our newsletter for all the latest.
