Ibiza 2019 | State of play | July & August

This is how the two peak season months went.

At the start of July, we took stock at how the Ibiza clubbing season had started for the first time in 2019. Now with July and August behind us, it's time for a quick update to see how the two peak season months went.

New residencies have started, which means more nights have been competing against each others. Below is the lowdown on what's hot right now. This might also help you decide, if you're still yet to hit the white isle this year.

MONDAY daytime: BIG AT USHUAÏA

No news there. David Guetta's daytime/evening party keeps being one of Ushuaïa's busiest events. Still going BIG until 30 September, so you have the chance to check it out until the end of the season!

TUESDAY DAYTIME: KISSTORY AT O BEACH IBIZA

As explained in the first state of play installment, this event is by now the most popular day at O Beach. And no changes in July and August - a sold out venue for most Tuesdays. Kisstory continues until 1 October, so you got plenty of time still to check it out.

TUESDAY DAYTIME: CRAIG DAVID'S TS5 POOL PARTY AT IBIZA ROCKS

Craig David's fourth season at Ibiza Rocks and it's still doing the business! Continues weekly until the 24 September.

TUESDAY NIGHT: BODYWORKS AT HÏ IBIZA

Even if the season isn't done yet, this night will clearly take the Newcomer of the Year award. Usually a new party needs a while to properly get established, but BODYWORKS was an instant success. CamelPhat, Solardo and FISHER's beast closes on 24 September.

TUESDAY NIGHT: RESISTANCE AT PRIVILEGE

RESISTANCE is one of those shorter residencies and only started in the middle of July. The night is generally very busy, and if Carl Cox is on the bill, prepare to see Privilege in its absolute full swing! Ultra's underground party closes on 17 September.

TUESDAY NIGHT: CALVIN HARRIS AT PACHA

Calvin Harris does a short, but very intense Ibiza stint this year. His nighttime residency at Pacha only started at the start of August and there's just one more date left - next Tuesday 3 September. Read on for more Calvin action though...

WEDNESDAY night: LA TROYA AT HEART

One of Ibiza's most legendary nights, the colourful and gay-friendly La Troya, is experiencing its renaissance at HEART. A super busy club, a great atmosphere and of course good music. Vámos troyanos! The Baby Marcelo hosted shindig runs until 2 October.

WEDNESDAY night: PARADISE AT DC10

Jamie Jones's night has been a staple of the Ibiza clubbing landscape for the past few years and 2019 is no different. We very much suggest you combine it with the Lost in Ibiza boat party that happens beforehand. Paradise runs until 2 October.

THURSDAY DAYTIME & NIGHT: MUSIC ON AT DESTINO & PACHA

In peak season we've seen an almost weekly Carolathon which started at Pacha's Destino resort late afternoon and then it continued at Pacha from midnight until sunrise.

For now, there are just three more dates at Destino announced (the last one being 3 October), but let's see if there are any last-minute additions to that schedule.

At Pacha, Music On continues weekly until 10 October and then has an extra date on 11 October, as the night will close in its already customary double-header fashion.

THURSDAY NIGHT: ABODE AT AMNESIA

Packing out Amnesia's terrace, ABODE is having a great summer in 2019. Covering anything from house, tech house - and even a bit of techno for time to time with those Alan Fitzpatrick dates - the London party promotors run until 26 September.

FRIDAY daytime: CALVIN HARRIS AT USHUAÏA

Calvin's daytime/evening slot at Ushuaïa has been doing just as well as his nighttime party at Pacha. There are just two more dates left - tomorrow and 6 September, so hurrry up if you still wanna catch him.

FRIDAY night: F*** ME I'M FAMOUS AT HÏ

F*** me, this night works just as well as it used to at its old home! David Guetta in the Theatre, Idris Elba in the Club - boom. F*** ME I'M FAMOUS! closes on 4 October.

FRIDAY night: DEFECTED AT EDEN

San Antonio's number one event this summer hands down. Eden in full swing with lots of people arriving on the island for the weekend, Defected is definitely one of the winners of the season. Runs until 4 October.

SATURDAY daytime: ANTS AT USHUAÏA

Ushuaïa's busiest event of the week - a blockbuster week in, week out. Along with the success of BODYWORKS, ABODE, elrow and RESISTANCE, this just shows how popular tech house remains! The ANTS colony congregates weekly until 28 September.

SATURDAY night: BLACK COFFEE AT HÏ

After a maybe just a little quieter start into the season, Black Coffee's night has picked up noticeably again during peak season and Hï is super busy Saturday after Saturday. BC closes on 5 October.

SATURDAY night: ELROW AT AMNESIA

The craziest party on the island hasn't quietened down a bit. Numerous sold-out dates this summer so far. Each week sees thousands of marvelled ravers watch Amnesia go off with all the elrow production. Closing party on 28 September.

SUNDAY night: SOLOMUN+1 AT PACHA

King Solomun keeps on reigning supreme, period. It's THE night to experience Pacha shaking in its most intense fashion. It's also the last weekly party to close for the season - on Sunday 13 October. That means there's a lot of Solly-action left for you to go and enjoy.

SUNDAY night: SAGA AT HEART

HEART's busiest night the last two years, Sundays keep on giving. Bedouin are having a great season and September sees Jamie Jones, Black Coffee and Damian Lazarus joining Saga. Closes 29 September.

Honourable mentions go out to two more: Rudimental's Pool Party at Ibiza Rocks which closes today as I'm typing this, also had a fantastic run.

Finally, WooMooN at Cova Santa also needs a mention for its niche concept and crowd. The Storytellers crew have smashed it with both of their parties. Even though their season is seemingly done, they're always good for a surprise at some point.

Again, this is merely a quick snapshot of who and what is doing well in this present moment. The full season review - where we'll see how all the clubs, promoters and the island in general did - will follow in the second part of September. Keep your eye out for this.
