The DJ Awards - keeping Ibiza beaches clean

Plastic No More starts in San Antonio.

Each year, Ibiza's version of the Grammys - the DJ Awards - choose a theme that reflects the state of play. 2019's theme is particularly topical: Plastic No More.

Now the DJ Awards has organised a plastic clean-up on Ibiza in support of this year's theme. It will take place this Friday 9 August in San Antonio starting at 18.00. The meeting point is next to Café Mambo at 17:30.

Our organisers will be joined by event partners Oceanic Global, Ibiza Preservation Fund, Ibiza Limpia & Casita Verde, Bye Bye Plastic, Plastic Free, plus parties WooMooN and Storytellers along with locals, workers and environmental activists.

Additionally, several DJs will also help the good cause. RIVA STARR, Da Capo and Miane are confirmed with more expected to join.

Each year, Ibiza attracts thousands of tourists - many of them clubbers - to its vibrant music scene and tranquil shores.

Whilst Ibiza is generally clean, we feel there is still room for improvement. Single-use plastics - both within our industry and the world in general - are not sustainable. They kill the creatures in our oceans and damage our planet beyond comprehension.

A change in practice and attitude is more crucial than ever - and we can all play a contribution.

Should you be on Ibiza on Friday, please come to support this initiative and tidy this beautiful island we call home.

After we've mucked in, we can look ahead to the glitzy award ceremony at HEART Ibiza on Monday 16 September knowing we've done our bit. You can find tickets below.
