Destino opening party with Music On | Daytime

Open-air with Marco Carola.

Last Thursday saw one of the most picturesque venues partner with one of the island's most renowned parties. Ingenious forces paired Music On with Destino, one of the most lavish resorts on the island. I was thrilled to experience Marco Carola and friends here.

Settling nicely into his new residency at Pacha, the Music On don invited an impressive array of guests to join him in his new daytime venture at the Pacha-owned resort.

Carl Cox, Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones are but a few scheduled to make an appearance throughout the summer; however, week one's spot went to Apollonia.

The trio took to the decks at 18:00 to lead us smoothly to sunset. Opting for thumping house tunes, they consistently delivered and laid the foundations for Carola's heavy hand.

Blaze's Lovelee Dae sat well with the concourse and the setting. Ibiza vibes truly accomplished.

Apollonia continued to jolt the crowd with buoyant bangers right up until Carola's turn at 21:00. One of their final tracks before sacrificing the decks was Just Us by Sublevel, a great tech-house beat which shot me and the crowd to the tropics.

Before long, Carola brought us back down to reality with some booming moody beats. It was then that I realised that people don't dance the same at Music On.

The original two-step that comes hand in hand with usual techno was nowhere to be seen and instead people where fully erratic. The Carola effect perhaps?

I was no different - arms and legs everywhere, my body was in full surrender to the music, particularly to the unexpected samples Carola effortlessly slotted in.

Cardi B's Bodak Yellow and Micheal Jackson's Beat It - albeit remixed albeit - both made their way to his selection, making for an interesting and unpredictable party.

Is there anything this man can't do?

As the day grew darker, the iconic red, purple and orange lights of Music On made their debut in Destino. The open-air venue transformed from daytime hideaway to an immense nightclub.

For the final dance of the day, the Italian extraordinaire blared Deep Inside, a classic house tune from Hardrive.

The track saw the crowd bouncing, making it even harder to tear myself from the dance floor - and even harder knowing il have to wait another two weeks for the return of Music On to Destino.

I couldn't help but wish the Destino addition of Music On went through until morning. In true form, Marco Carola always leaves his crowd wanting more and this time was no exception.

Fortunately for attendees, the party carried on at Pacha from 23:59 and it will do so on several other occasions this summer.
