Food, wine and trucks on Ibiza

The first of a series of food truck events got into gear last Sunday and the good news is that the next one is around the corner.

Put together a hot Sunday afternoon, delicious food and local wine and what do you get? A warm and lovely winter wonderland. This is the first event in a new series of food truck festivals held by the Ibizkus Winery, outside Santa Eulalia with the next one on 22 December this year.

14 food trucks with 25 different food offerings from across the world: tacos both in Mexican and French styles, local lamb churrasco, bao buns, maki sushi, crepes, vegan hamburgers and more made up this festive day.

Accompanying this fantastic fare were Ibizkus's own wines; its delicious roses, ravishing reds and crisp whites along with local beer from local craft brewers Ibosim. Getting your thirst quenched was a pleasant and local experience.

With free entrance and dishes priced at a very reasonable €4 for tapas-sized portions and good prices on the wines, it was no wonder this event was packed out.

If we weren't eating or drinking, we were browsing the local food products on sale or dancing to the cool tracks being spun by the DJ. You could even get your photo taken in a special VW Camper van photo booth for just €1.

We were pleased to see that Ibizkus had gone the extra mile for sustainability with compostable bamboo plates and cutlery made of recycled wood - a great move to avoid unnecessary waste.

Remember to look out for the next event this month or keep an eye out for the one after for a spirited way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
