Clubbing highlights of the Ibiza 2018 season

We share some of our top moments of the summer clubbing on Ibiza so far.

Oh yes, oh yes, we all have them. Some days and nights go down in our own personal histories as the highlights of the summer, those memories that we keep reliving in our minds when the hot summer months are behind us.

Here at Ibiza Spotlight, we go out and party our fair share: often for work and possibly just as often for fun. Below, we share, in no particular order, some of our favourite moments of the summer ahead of the closing parties. Check it out.

Rudimental at Ibiza Rocks Hotel VIP Suite

As soon as I stepped into the luxury VIP party suite of Ibiza Rocks Hotel for Rudimental & Friends Pool Party, the level of excitement in the room alone was enough to create a most memorable moment. Going as an Ibiza Spotlight team made the experience even more special.

The atmosphere was nothing other than energetic and joyful throughout the day - and it got even merrier as the bottomless champagne sliding down our throats went to our heads.

We couldn't help ourselves having been spoilt rotten with all the nibbles, pizza, drinks and banging tunes you could imagine. The air-conditioned room was all that anyone could dream of in the Balearic heat as was stepping outside into summer smash hits like DJ Marky's It Is The Way blasted by Rudimental. All I can say is EPIC!

Adam Beyer b2b Joseph Capriati at Drumcode at RESISTANCE on Tuesday 7 August

The atmosphere on the dance floor at RESISTANCE was electric and when Adam Beyer dropped Your Mind, the whole of Main Room went nuts. It was a hair-standing-on-end moment. No wonder it won the DJ Award for best track of the tracks of the summer - as did RESISTANCE for Ibiza night. Plus I got to meet Enrico Sangiuliano which was awesome!

The Zoo Project at Benimussa Park

The Zoo Project at Benimussa Park - what a refreshing party, in every way! The time of day, space, fun, boogie, sports, food and drink - it's all catered for. We got there early and started by the pool to chill a bit, then moved on to the main area for a drink and to get into the groove whilst watching the zoo-ey characters float by, making this party so colourful and invigorating.

We headed to the grades for some amazing b2bs with a continuous flow of live performances, some artistic, some fun and others just a little bit kinky, but all very very contagious with their amazing vibe. Watching peoples faces glow during sunset brought back memories of the good old days on the Space terrace, and then, the drums came in.

Wow, what a party! I looked at one of my friends shouting out loud: "This is my party!" I feel the same. Will I go back? Definitely. And this time I won't miss a go in the rollerskater dancefloor. Oh yes, and also to enjoy one of the best pizzas on the island courtesy of Es Tanco in a great party atmosphere.

ABODE | DO NOT SLEEP at Amnesia on Thursday 16 August

What started as a last minute decision turned into a memory I'll never forget. It was Amnesia for ABODE | DO NOT SLEEP: a typical Thursday night pilgrimage for many tourists and UK workers on the island.

In the Terrace, Heidi was blasting out some pumping acid house to a crowd who was more than up for it. To take a quick break, we retreated to the smoking area and rested our legs. What should have been 10-minutes turned into almost an hour.

We sat and spoke to a random group of party-goers who had made a long-haul flight from all parts of Asia for a few nights on Ibiza. Their attitude was admirable and energy was infectious. Before we knew it, the tequila was flowing and we were going big on the dance floor.

Soon after we made way to an amazing villa after-party where our new found friends were staying on the trip. All I'll say was that it was fun... even when an unrelenting August storm battered us in the early hours.

Above & Beyond at Armin van Buuren at Hï Ibiza

Above & Beyond's one-off Ibiza appearance at in 2018 was nothing short of extraordinary. Taking over from Armin van Buuren's Hï Ibiza residency saw the English trance DJs bring the high-octane Group Therapy sound to the Theatre room.

The night itself was made up incredible individual moments - from a full dance floor sit down to A&B inviting some lucky guests onstage to hit play on the final tune. An emotional connection ensued when A&B played out Tim by Arty, a tribute of course to the late Tim Bergling aka Avicii.

All of these things combined, as well as awe-inspiring production, created an overwhelming energy at Hï Ibiza. All I can say is I can't wait to see Above and Beyond back in Ibiza next year.

Solomun +1 at Pacha + after-party

My favourite moment of clubbing this season so far was an after-party I was lucky enough to get into. It all actually started off on Sunday night at Solomun +1 with Dixon as Mladen's guest. This particular date has been a summer highlight for lots of people for the past few years, myself very much included.

Both were in brilliant form in an unsurprisingly rammed to the rafters Pacha. The newly renovated cherry club had an amazing atmosphere that night, and no one left before the last tune faded out.

As said, I was one of the lucky bastards that got an invite to the afters. Dixon, Solomun and Kristian from Âme went back and forth all day long in a venue in the north of the island with the best crowd. It's really been the best party moment of Ibiza 2018 for me so far.

But hey, the closings are upon us and usually, they top everything experienced during the season so I think we're in for a few more fantastic days and nights - bring it on!

Circoloco at DC10

One of my favourite moments of the Ibiza 2018 season was Tania Vulcano's closing set for Circoloco in the infamous DC10 garden back in May. Dancing outdoors as planes fly over is what makes this space so special. When this is accompanied by rolling grooves that never stop like Barac's Minem Monem, you never want to leave the dance floor.

Pyramid at Amnesia

My favourite clubbing moment of the summer was the third Pyramid night at Amnesia. The line-up was simply incredible. As a techno head who enjoys heavy hammering tracks but also creativity and electronic sounds, what I could possibly want more than this night? Here's who was on in only one night.

The mighty Maceo Plex was the climax in the Terrace; it was great to listen to his darker and heavier sound. Before him, the best Stephen Bodzin I had ever heard plus KiNK live - mamma mia!

That would already be enough for an unforgettable night but no, there was more to it. In the Main Room the lovely techno warrior Charlotte de Witte was smashing it out, and she was in great company with Luigi Donzelli and Luigi Madonna. The line-up also included Shall Ocin and Paul Ritch, but I arrived too late to catch them.

We got carried away with the amazing sound and adrenaline-boosting tunes until the music stopped and the lights went on. You know that feeling when time disappears and you lose yourself in the music in Ibiza? That was it.

Do Not Sit at HEART

As hard as it is to choose, one of my favourite moments of the summer was no doubt the night at Do Not Sit at HEART with Behrouz followed by Hernan Cattaneo b2b Nick Warren.

Everything about that night was perfect: the music was sublime, the energy off the charts and the crowd in perfect harmony - all creating an amazing vibe. The party is a testament to Behrouz's talent as a selector bringing to life the Do Not Sit ethos of superb music in a loving atmosphere.

No wonder both Hernan and Argentina received DJ Awards this year: they sure know how to party and Do Not Sit knows it. Loved every second.

What was your favourite moment of the Ibiza summer? Don't have one? There's still time with loads of closing parties coming up. Check out the first wave of September ones here or head to our party calendar to plan your next escapade. You know you want to.
