Solomun + LIVE bring a majestic evening to Destino

Solomun, Âme and Undercatt bring a special melodic side of techno to the Pacha branded hotel.

As we have come to expect, a very special Solomun + LIVE took place at Destino Ibiza a few days ago. With only four dates throughout the summer, the open-air party brings only the best every time.

I was greeted by the sounds of the Italian duo Undercatt. As part of the Diynamic Label and having previously played alongside artists such as Solomun, H.O.S.H and Adriatique, they are quite the treat. I was excited to see them play in such a stunning open-air space. On their bill, was the deep house track, Virgo by Frankey & Sandrino. As it quickly escalated into a bigger and feistier bill, the duo selected tracks such as Maksim Dark's Saturn and Jonathan Kaspar's Khaya.

As a favourite on the lineup, Frank Wiedemann (one-half of Âme) received a warm welcome from the crowd. Wiedemann definitely brought the Âme appeal singlehandedly. Leaving tunes lodged in the crowd's mind, the German-born musical mastermind selected recognisable tracks such as Massive Attack's Teardrops as well as Âme's own remix of The XX's Reunion.

Ebertplatz by Andhim was another complete ear-opener with its layers of visionary sound design and synth-heavy arrangements. It had the ability to make the crowd look at each other in disbelief. Let's not forget The Drifter's Space Ramp, another highlight of his majestic live performance.

With the rest of Solomun's tribe firmly in their dance floor positions, the Bosnian native stepped to the decks. Inspiring in the creation of his set, Solomun remixed tunes such as Boris SG's ambient track, Perpetual from 2016's Existent album, making it a state of the art melodic techno tune – one of the memorable tracks of the night.

Alongside this, Boris Dlugosch & Cassara's nu disco electro release Traveller amplified itself through Destino's powering sound system. Also present, making his track selection nothing but eclectic, was the Balearic Techno track from the Pickadoll Label, Ida Engberg & David West's Supercluster (Ida Engberg mix), which injected the crowd with even more exuberance on the floor.

A special part of the evening that will remain ingrained in the memory is the energy of the revellers that attended this exceptional party. They carried a unique amount of energy which proved contagious amongst all.

As my first experience, I could not have been happier. With only one date left, Solomun + LIVE on 5 October cannot come quick enough. Recondite and Solomun, as well as Alex Kennon warming up the crowd, will make sure it is one for the books, no doubt. Check below for details and catch you at the closing of this unique event.
