As the end of the summer season draws into view and children return to school in Northern Europe, the madness of July and August subsides and it is another opportunity to enjoy Ibiza at its finest. For island residents September and October (along with May and June) are generally considered the favourite months, as the island changes; the pressure drops, the temperature subsides and flowers re-emerge. Traffic is less chaotic, the clubs are less crowded and there's a table free at your favourite restaurant. It's even possible to find a beach bed once again!
Ibizan nightlife continues on until the big club closures at the end of the first week of October, although many of the major restaurants and beach clubs remain open until the end. Throughout the month there are occasional fun cultural events, organized by the local councils, as the residents begin to reclaim their streets. Everyone is smiling and relaxed.
