Back to the '80s in San Antonio

DJs Petit and Vasquez brings you top tunes from two great decades with La Movida.

It's still party season in San Antonio and this Saturday 28 January sees the arrival of the popular fiesta, La Movida. Taking place in the marquee by the fountains, expect the town to come alive as visitors and locals descend for a long night of music and dancing.

From 22 h DJs Petit and Vazquez of Children of the 80s fame will be spinning tunes from the '80s and '90s all night long. Most people enter into the spirit of things by dressing in their most outrageous outfit and getting on down on the dance floor.

Expect a fabulous light show, professional dancers and some live music too. Last year's fun and games included a hand jive display, a Michael Jackson thriller set and a saxophonist.

The kids can get in on the action too. At 10 h there is a competition for designing the best La Movida t-shirt. Then from 19.30 h, the La Movida Children's Disco takes place in the Espai Jove cultural centre for ages 12-21 years.

If you are really going to let your hair down (or get your wig on), which is highly recommended, you will want to take advantage of the special bus service. It runs all night between Ibiza Town and San Antonio with the last bus at 6 h on 29 January. Don't expect to get an early night.

La Movida is a hedonistic party that attracts a great crowd all looking for a night of fun and surprises.

See January out in style by dressing up and dancing the night away. We did warn you that Ibiza doesn't go to sleep in the winter!
