The soft golden sands of Es Figueral beach

Featured Ibiza beach.

Where and what?

The soft sandy beach of Es Figueral is in the north east of the island close to the village of San Carlos. It's known by the locals as the fig tree beach due to the big number of them in the surrounding fields.

Why go?

This long expanse of sand has rocky cliffs to the rear with stunning scenery all around, not too unlike its near neighbour, the naturist beach, Aguas Blancas. Es Figueral has a more resort-like ambience and has many amenities such as shops, places to eat and a whole catalogue of water activities. The clear shallow waters are perfect for small children to bathe in and this lovely beach affords you great views of the secluded private island of Tagomago across the sea.

Things to do

The rocky coves are great for snorkelers or you can try your hand at kayaking, Stand Up Paddle boarding or take a trip on one of the long banana boats. There's also a diving school if you want to learn how to dive or just perfect your technique. When you feel like a bite to eat, there are a couple of restaurants by the beach as well as a chiringuito, Las Dalias run by the same people who bring you the famous hippie market of the same name. All places offer delicious fresh food and drinks.

How to get there

You can get to the beach either by car or bus, following signposts from San Carlos. There's a small car park at the beach or you can park along the road that leads to it and walk.
