The giant ferry company Trasmediterránea has announced that it will start a new ferry service uniting the ports of Alicante and Ibiza this summer. May or June will see the first service between the ports for almost two decades when the super fast ferry Alcántara sets off on its first trip.
Travelling at 30 knots the journey will last under three hours and will be a positive boon for tourists travelling to and from Andalucia and beyond. After dropping off at Ibiza the ferry will then head for Palma in Mallorca as its ultimate destination before the return journey.
