It's all go down in Dalt Vila at the moment as building after building is reformed, renovated and put back to use. The owners of number 4 Plaza de Vila have just announced that they are going to convert it into a five star hotel, which will be the island's fourth after the Hacienda, the Fenicia and the new Casino Hotel.
The Hotel will be known as the Mirador de Dalt Vila and was once the home of the writer Enrique Fajarnés Cardona. The same company that is currently engaged on the renovation of the nearby Can Botino has been engaged to carry out the structural works, and when completed by Easter next year, the hotel will preserve the grandeur and splendour of it's original early 20th century decor.
There'll be 16 rooms for guests and a café and restaurant open to the public, and the owners, the Fajarnés family, hope to bring quality accommodation in the this area of our World Heritage Centre. Good luck to them.
