It's a long way off the 8th August yet, but put the date in your diaries in big red letters. That's the day when Ibiza celebrates its local Saint's day with a spectacular firework display down at the port.
This year the council have announced that no less than €60,000 will be spent on the fireworks making it the biggest and most expensive display ever. It's well worth the trouble of battling through the crowds and traffic to see it and starts at the stroke of midnight.
It's considered so important that all the Billionaire's yachts moored in the marina have to clear off out to sea for the duration so that the viewing public can get a better view. The end of the display is greeted by all the boats sounding their horns in a noisy tribute.
