The Blue Flag which flies at Es Cana denoting the good quality of the water and beach facilities has been up and down like a bride's nighty these last few days.
Neighbours in the area were aghast when the flag was lowered in broad daylight and the suspicion was that it would never be seen again, having catastrophic consequences for tourism on this beach-reliant resort.
However the Mayor has finally explained all, though why he couldn't have done it as the flag was removed is anybody's guess, as a green 'stain' was found floating in the water which needed chemical analysis.
All turned out well as the 'stain' proved to be harmless algae stimulated into stain producing mode by the warm weather, as frequently happens at this time of year, so now the flag can be raised again.
