The topsy turvy world that is Ibiza has recently seen two unusual crashes in the space of a week. Crash number one occurred when a car driven by a slightly tipsy motorist spectacularly left the road at high speed and literally flew 40 or 50 metres through the air.
In the process it badly damaged 7 parked cars and ended up smashing through a plate glass window before finally coming to rest in the middle of a shop. In the second incident a light plane which had just taken off from Ibiza airport lost power when the engine cut out, and descending at 500 feet a minute, was forced to make an unscheduled landing in a field just 700 metres from the centre of San Rafael.
We are happy to report that only light injuries were sustained in both crashes, and that air accident specialists have arrived from the mainland to investigate both (probably) accidents.
