Fans of the glamorous forensic scientists riding round Miami in Hummels solving crimes as they go may be interested in the sorry tale of their Ibiza counterparts.
In a recent heavy storm when over 41 litres of water per square metre hit the island, over 1500 lightning rays were recorded, and all power was lost on the island, forensic HQ was badly affected. The laboratory was left ankle deep in faecal floodwater, the only computer was damaged, and samples of frozen DNA were lost and damaged, rendering them inadmissible as evidence in court.
The boffins are now trying to find evidence of why their basement laboratory, situated on a road prone to flooding in heavy rain, was affected in this manner.
