A light aircraft which took off from Ibiza last week, crashed near to Gerona in Catalonia, killing all four occupants.
The plane was piloted by a Swiss man who owned 2 houses in Ibiza, and left the airport last Sunday, heading for Basel in Switzerland. However not long into the journey, the Cirrus SR22 plane disappeared from radar screens in the Costa Brava area.
After an intensive search by both the Spanish and French authorities using boats and a helicopter, the wreckage
of the plane was found the next day.
