The University of the Balearics is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month. Although its origins in Palma date back to the 15th century, in modern times it was established in 1978 and one of its departments are here in Ibiza. During its existence 17,000 students have graduated with diplomas.
On the other side of the educational coin it has been revealed that San Antonio has one of the worst educational records in the whole of the Balearics. Over a third of the students undergoing obligatory secondary education do not graduate from the course!
