Every day in the Spanish year is very special because there is a different Saint assigned to all 365 of them! However, 28th December is really special because it is the 'Day of the Innocent Saints' when the entire population plays hilarious tricks and japes on one another, a bit like April Fools Day in Britain.
Now, if you've ever stood in front of the TV in a crowded bar when the Madrid - Barcelona match is on, you'll know that the Spanish aren't renowned for their sense of humour. But the whole of San Antonio nearly burst its corsets with laughter when it woke up about 11ish on St. Innocent's day to find that some pranksters had dressed up 'The Shouting Man' as a woman! The Shouting Man, a statue of a man shouting, had been attired in an enormous comedy bra, together with other feminine accoutrements, much to the amusement of the Sanantonionians. Oh, if only every day was like this in Ibiza!
