No it's not a series about upwardly mobile teenagers in a rich South American suburb, but a telephone number that keeps popping up unexpectedly on people's phone bills. Let me explain; somebody has discovered a method of tapping into the telephone lines and making very expensive international telephone calls. The first thing the bill payer knows is when an enormous bill arrives with loads of calls to South America and North Africa. Apparently the method used is simplicity in itself because the security of the lines is not what it should be, so phone company Telefonica has thus far refunded the cost of these calls. In an entirely fictitious yet truly believable ending to this article we must report that police have put together a psychological profile of the culprit who is believed to be an Arabic speaking chatterbox with hundreds of relatives in Ecuador!
