The beach

The beach of Figueretas is a well tended, centrally-located beach, divided into smaller zones by rocky piers. The water is shallow and mostly sheltered from waves, making it ideal for safe swimming and children to play.

The whole bay is bordered by a lovely palm-fringed promenade that was completely modernised a few years ago. Many nice restaurants invite you for a break to enjoy the wonderful sea views.

During the summer, the beach is busy with holidaymakers and locals alike. Figueretas is as much a residential area as a holiday resort, so the beach and promenade are also popular in winter, with some restaurants staying open year-round.

From the jetty in front of the Mar y Playa hotel, small ferries connect to Ibiza Town and Playa d'en Bossa, and there are also many boat trips that go from here, including ones to Formentera.

In the evening, the promenade comes alive with people strolling around and small stands selling jewellery and souvenirs. Happy diners enjoy their dinner on the outside terraces watching the passers-by and children play till late on the small playground on the main square.

It is only a 15-minute-walk to the centre of Ibiza Town, and there are good views of the old walled city of Dalt Vila from the southern end. To the south, Figueretas merges into the popular clubbing resort of Playa d'en Bossa.

Spotlight tip

At the very north end of the promenade, you'll find another small sandy bay. There are no lifeguards, sunbeds or other facilities, nor is the seaweed cleared away, which is why you often have the beach almost to yourself.

Beach bars and restaurants

There is a fantastic choice of bars and restaurants in Figueretas. The promenade is lined with restaurants offering beautiful terraces with stunning views of the whole bay. Many are beautifully decorated with green, flowering plants, often in an Asian style.

You'll find places with healthy, inventive food as well as typical Mediterranean dishes and tapas and restaurants offering different sorts of international cuisine.

On the parallel roads of the promenade, small, intimate eateries offer even more choices of cuisines from around the world for lunch and dinner. In general, Figueretas has many budget options with really good food.

Hotels and villas

There is a diverse selection of hotels and apartments, many located right on the promenade or only a short stroll away. From high-end luxury to great value budget accommodation, this resort caters for all.

It's very popular with the LGBTQIA audience too, meaning gay-friendly accommodation abounds.

A great alternative for groups and families is a private villa with its own pool and garden, which can offer terrific value on the per-person cost. Check out our selection of villas near Ibiza Town.
