When it comes to variety, freshness and value, you will have a long way to go to match the fine offerings of Contra Vent restaurant in Cala de Bou. This all-year-round open restaurant offers a great value, daily fixed price lunch menu and on Wednesdays from 8pm, an all you can eat pizza menu. That's a lot of good quality pizza.
The fixed price menu del día lunch menu includes a starter, main, dessert and drink for this small sum. You get starters like spaghetti with garlic and chilli; country salad or bean soup. Mains include pork escalope, grilled chicken and on Thursday's only, paella. The a la carte menu is available all day, but with the big portion sizes here, the lunch may well be enough.
The pizza selection at this place is particularly inventive and they are all baked in a specially made oven. There's the Ranchera with a topping of Bolognese and barbecue sauce; the Tanit with tuna, capers, garlic and chopped parsley; and, the Contra Vent, with peperoni, ham, Roquefort and mushrooms.
Contra Vent is big on fresh food and runs with the policy that when it's gone, it's gone. This means guaranteed fresh fish every day and meat from the family supermarket Es Cucó. With a nod to responsible dining, the menu sports a traffic light system for sufferers of allergies and food intolerances, so you can easily see which dishes are right for you.
If you don't feel like going out, the restaurant offers home delivery from 7pm each day in and around the Cala de Bou area. You can also pop by and try one of their excellent and addictive kebabs made with fresh meat and lots of veg in a delectable large fresh bread pitta.
