The 25 room hotel just outside San Antonio has become part of the ever expanding Ibiza Rocks activities, a seemingly perfect alignment of the venue's rock 'n' roll heritage with what Ibiza Rocks represent to the modern audience.
Notorious for hosting the wildest parties on the island and, perhaps more so, welcoming the island's most famous visitors down the years - read Freddie Mercury, Grace Jones and Elton John - Pikes has to be seen to be believed. Best known as the backdrop to Wham's Club Tropicana video, it is an enchanted country house that oozes charm and character.......if only its walls could speak of the things they have seen in the last 30 years.
Tony Pike, the inspiration and owner of Pikes, remains as resident in Room 25 of the hotel and will see Ibiza Rocks place their unique brand across the location. There are plans to make this a real destination point again, with a new bar and restuarant (called Room 39) the main features of attracting people here for more than just a luxury stay. The Marrakech suite, synonomous with Freddie Mercury, will be transformed into a meeting point for the hotel guests but retaining all the original features. It will be the ultimate house party!
We'll have rooms available very soon and the likelihood is that you'll be sharing alongside rocknrollers straight from the gigs at Ibiza Rocks or other big events that are happening in Ibiza this year, like MTV. Duran Duran are old enough to remember this in its former heydey! The new heydey will come though, no doubt it will take some fine-tuning and cosmetic touches to convert this magical spot to exactly where the Rocks team are wanting to take it, but expect that to happen sooner rather than later.
