Another Carl Cox special in Ibiza

This week Laurent Garnier was in town and we were there to witness the event.

When you have one of the worlds best and most popular dj´s (that´ll be Carl Cox), playing alongside one of the true legends of electronic music (the one and only Laurent Garnier), you´ve got something special in the making.

And on Tuesday 5 August, Space was predictably full of many, many very excited clubbers looking for a party to remember.

Outside Carl Cox

Tonight was the busiest we´ve seen Space all season, busier than any of the previous We Love parties so far and busier than the Carl Cox opening party, which was something pretty amazing itself.

Carl Cox has become one of the most popular nights in Ibiza and attracts a blend of clubbers that really know how to party. There are not many other parties here that offer the same intense atmosphere that the crowd create here (check out Cocoon and Cream at Amnesia for a similar experience).

Most of the credit for this has to go to Cox, not only as the party host, but also for inviting some of the world´s most influential and cutting edge djs to play alongside him each week.

Laurent Garnier at Space

And so it was that tonight we were here to witness a very exclusive double set from Laurent Garnier (above), and we´re happy to say that he delivered on the pre-party hype.

Starting with a discoteca set that included a mix of some acid-house and tech tunes, with the odd club anthem thrown in (Born Slippy anyone ?) he pretty much had the crowd eating out of his hand from the start.

Carl Cox at SpaceCarl Cox was up next inside the discoteca, while Garnier moved over to the terrace where he continued to thrill the clubbers there, with more of a tech sound than earlier.

Cox was up to his usual standards, often drawing the crowd to cheers and whistles, with some people putting his set as the best of the night.

A choice far too tight for us to decide on, but one thing is for sure ... we are looking very much forward to Laurent Garnier´s return to Ibiza, for We Love Space on Sunday 24 August.

For those who needed a rest, or just some more room to throw some shapes, tonight El Salon was hosted by Filthy Gorgeous. This really offered a nice alternative to the main rooms, with Jamie Gittins and Sean Hughes working well to create a decent party vibe.

As for the party that is Carl Cox ... this is definitely a night that you want to put on your Ibiza hit-list !
