After missing the opening party the week before, on Tuesday 24 June we took a trip to Amnesia for the second Armada party of the summer.
And with a promising dj line-up including Sharam, Hernan Cattaneo and Markus Schulz in the main room, plus Tocadisco and Cedric Gervais in the terrace, it looked like it was going to be a bit special.
But even with these high expectations, this party was something amazing ! The absence of Sharam, whose plane unfortunately didn´t make it over, was a minor disappointment but as it meant extra time for Cattaneo and Schulz it still made for a great evening.
Armada is generally known as a trance night, with Armin van Buuren leading the way most weeks in the main room and the terrace being more of a house party, hosted by new boys, Contact.
However, with no Armin this week and a guest appearance by Hernan Cattaneo (below), the music was always going to be a little darker and deeper.
In fact, Cattaneo played an awesome set mixing some fantastic progressive and tech-house tunes which the crowd were just lapping up.
The Armada crowd are used to good music here at Amnesia and on Tuesday no-one would have been disappointed. Just to make sure, Markus Schulz finished off the night with another top set, returning to the trance theme whilst keeping the party going on the dancefloor.
Armada is one of those nights in which you can always find some space to dance on the floor, which is often a surprise considering the quality of the dj´s booked each week.
The Terrace has always had trouble filling up however, but this year with the likes of Tocodisco, Mark Knight and Laidback Luke playing out the top house tunes we should see more people heading to Armada to enjoy some quality house, as well as the banging main room.
