About Space Ibiza
Aww, Space! What more is there to say? The club of 27 years ran from 1989 to 2016 in Playa d'en Bossa and was truly one of a kind. While rumours of its resurrection persisted, we'd become resigned to the fact it was a memory...
Then, boom, out of nowhere, Space was back! This time materialising in San Antonio as a club night at Eden. After the best part of a decade away, Space is the place once more.
Want to know more? We answer all your questions: when? where? who? why? and how?
When?
Every Friday night, from 26 April to 4 October | 23:59 to 06:00
Friday is the start of the weekend, and nowadays, the trend for extended weekend breaks to Ibiza means that Friday nights are a colossal night on the island. Some of the biggest parties of the week take place on Fridays. The competition is fierce, but the Space name carries weight.
Eden hosted Defected, its most popular night, on Fridays for many years. That left a gaping hole when it departed. Eden needed a marquee replacement - and it got it. Can Space live up to its former glory? Time will tell.
Where?
Eden - the Dutch-owned, British and Irish-run nightclub in the centre of San Antonio and the home of the bass-fueled Void Incubus Gold sound system - read more about that below.
Being located on Ibiza's west coast and in the resort favoured by British and Irish tourists and expats, Eden's programme and dancefloor are reflective of this demographic. That said, Space's allure is a cosmopolitan one, so you can expect an international crowd like the days of old.
Who?
In its most famous incarnation, Space was never about one single person. It was about the people that came and gathered on the dancefloor.
You can see that reflected in this new era of Space. While some DJs are invited back several times, it's a varied programme. Some weeks might focus more on House music, other weeks Techno. Then in room two, there's scope for more niche genres.
Found on the line-ups are Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Armand Van Helden, Benny Benassi, Stacey Pullen and Chris Liebing but there's also some exciting young names, pushing electronic music forward. Max Dean, Late Replies, Bontan and Sosa are amongst them.
Naturally, there are also names who were synonymous with Space in the past, such as James Zabiela, David Moreno, Tania Vulcano and Carlo Lio. Their inclusion gives this new version of Space credibility.

Void Incubus Gold
With all those big name DJs, you're going to want the best quality sound possible. Fortunately, Eden is equipped with not only one of the best sound systems on the island but the whole world.
The club's Void Incubus Gold set-up is powered by 100,000 watts and is crystal clear on all frequencies, no matter where you're positioned in the club. It's loud, and hearing protection is recommended. Trust us, though, wearing them won't dampen your audio experience.
Strongest week?
Being huge Progressive House fans, we instantly gravitated towards the 7 July with Sasha & John Digweed and Guy J all on the same line-up.
Any surprises?
Yes. The likes of deadmau5 (21 June and 19 July), Sven Väth (28 June) and Danny Tenaglia (30 August) playing in San Antonio. All huge bookings for the town.
Redbox
Another room from the old Space is making a reappearance: the Redbox. Already, Ibiza Global Classics, Pure Radio, Issues and Future Trance have been confirmed as room hosts.
Keep an eye out for...
Local businessman and the person responsible for putting Space on the map, Pepe Roselló handing out the drink tokens, just like old times!
Other than that, the Discoteca line-ups from the start of September through to the closing party on 4 October remain under wraps. Maybe we have a few more surprises in store?
