Ushuaïa loves causing a stir. Sure, it could have completed its weekly schedule in a calm and efficient manner, but where's the drama there? Landing a full week after the rest of the parties were revealed, Tiësto makes a sensational return to Ibiza.
The last time we saw the Dutch superstar DJ on Ibiza was back in 2012. Therefore it's been ten-plus years since he last played here. It feels great to have him back in business.
Taking over Tuesday daytimes at the 7,000-capacity party hotel, Tiësto headlines every week from the opening party on 4 July to the closing on 29 August.
So where has the man otherwise known as Tijs Michiel Verwest been?
Aside from picking up a lucrative residency in Las Vegas, Tiësto has carved out a glittering career in production. He's moved on from Trance, conquered the EDM world, found fame as a chart-raiding Pop producer and is now dabbling in Melodic Techno under his VER:WEST alias.
He's even found time to become a father again, which might partially explain why he's favouring a return to Europe. That, and the offer to pack out Ushuaïa every week!
Vegas' loss is Ushuaïa's gain - and Ibiza's clubbers will reap the reward this summer.
Expect production, fireworks and lasers off the scale. Tickets are on sale now and available below.
