Cocoon20 always promised to big on Ibiza during its twentieth year - and so far Sven Väth and the team haven't disappointed. From the opening show at Ushuaïa with Underworld, to the triumphant return to Amnesia - this season is turning into a fabled one.
Further one-offs at Benimussa Park, Blue Marlin and a recent visit to Cova Santa have only added to the spectacle.
Now Cocoon turns its attention to the second big concert show at Ushuaïa on Friday 13 September. With electronic pioneers Kraftwerk headlining and making their Ibiza debut with their 3D show, it was looking to go down in the record books anyway.
Fans have been enquiring as to the rest of the line-up and the Cocoon clan are ready to reveal the missing component. Seth Troxler is the name who'll be joining Kraftwerk and Papa Sven on the day.
Seth is of course no stranger to Cocoon, having been a regular fixture down the years. Last summer he was the secret guest at the closing party. Earlier this year he performed alongside Craig Richards and Ricardo Villalobos in what has become a customary part of the programme.
Kraftwerk are widely regarded as the forefathers of electronic music, mainly for their influence during the early European synth pop scene.
What with Seth being a native of Detroit - the birthplace of techno - and a movement that took much inspiration from Kraftwerk, this event now feels like a real connecting of the dots.
Of course, Sven himself was an early proponent of the techno sound in Europe and helped developed the sound further from his Frankfurt base. Three pillars of modern electronic music in one venue - this Cocoon20 party is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the summer.
“There are moments in life where you pinch yourself. This is one of those moments. It's beyond an honour to share the stage on this legendary night with Kraftwerk and Sven Väth - two of the world's biggest musical influences, my heros - on the island I call home.” - Seth Troxler.
We had the chance to catch Seth play at Boiler Room Ibiza a few weeks ago, where the joker played a version of Kraftwerk's The Model. Looking back, we now suspect that was a deliberate easter-egg from Mr. Troxler.
Arguably, the special one-off is shaping up to be one of the most decorated parties in Ushuaïa's short but epic history. With little over three weeks away, you can purchase tickets for this legendary show below.
