Sunsets on Ibiza are easily some of the best the Mediterranean has to offer. Each evening, the sky ignites with a glorious palette of orange, pink, and purple hues, creating a stunning scene that will make you stand still in awe.
No two sunsets are the same, and no viewing platform or month offers the same vantage point to witness this nightly spectacle. Therefore, we've compiled a list of Ibiza's luckiest locations, which are blessed with an open window onto this dreamy dance between day and night.
The west coast beaches
Only 15 minutes from San Antonio or San José, many make the pilgrimage to the beaches here, not just to soak up the sun, but for their incredible west-facing vantage points.
Cala Conta beach
Best time to go: All year
One of the most beautiful sets of beaches of the west coast, Cala Conta's transparent, deep blue waters and golden sands are a star attraction.
Here, you'll find two beaches side by side - along with a nudist beach - all with views of the islet of S'illa des Bosc, or Forest Island. Although now devoid of trees, it is still a sublime sight.
If you'd like to dine as the magic takes place, then there are a number of restaurants that hold a prized position on the beach and surrounding cliff edges. But, be warned, trying to grab a last-minute table without a reservation may end in disappointment. For a luxury treat, 7Pines Resort Ibiza offers coveted views, which come complete with a high-end dining experience to make lasting memories.
Cala Tarida beach

Best time to go: All year
A beautiful, long stretch of white sand, Cala Tarida is a relaxed haven for sunseekers and sunset spotters to enjoy. Popular with families, the waters here are calm and stunning, glistening in an array of dazzling blue tones. The nice wide beach means there’s always space to relax in the shielded bay or take a lovely lunch or dinner in one of the many restaurants.
Gaze upwards at the hillside overlooking the beach, and you’ll notice picture-perfect terraces, such as those at Cotton Beach Club, to tempt you in. A luxurious spot to lounge with either drinks or some delicious Mediterranean cuisine to really mark the experience.
The Sunset Strip
Best time to go: 1 May to 18 October
Probably the most well-known location of the island, San Antonio's Sunset Strip has gained its name and its reputation for good reason.
The lengthy promenade and its bars, restaurants, and rocky shoreline offer countless viewing opportunities, where families, diners, and early party-goers mingle together to catch the evening spectacle.
Café Mambo and Café Del Mar are the original and most famous spots, where dinner, drinks, and international DJs can be enjoyed alongside the dreamy view. However, the entire path offers many different vantage points to watch the stunning scene unfold.

Slightly further around the coast, but well worth the extra drive, Hostal La Torre is perched perfectly amongst the rugged hills of San Antonio. Encapsulating the spirit of Ibiza, this chic, yet rustic and romantic dining destination is filled with charm. Open all year, it's a stunning scene that invites you to kick back, as the evening roster of big-name DJs plays the latest in Balearic chillout tracks.
Make sure to wrap up warm to catch the unparalleled views in winter, too.
San Antonio Bay

Best time to go: 15 April to 30 August
The neighbouring resort of San Antonio Bay offers some equally enviable sites for this magical moment. The long strip of sandy coves that wind their way all along the bay offers a myriad of spots to lay a towel or take a front seat on one of the pretty west-facing restaurant terraces.
For an elevated outlook, the INNSiDE Ibiza Beach rooftop paints a panoramic picture of the bay in its entirety. A little further along stands Kumharas, an island institution and an authentic refuge for sunset lovers, whether holidaymaker or local. The nightly live music and DJs mean the energy here always feels like a celebration.

Make it all the way to Port d'es Torrent beach and you are bound to be stunned, as the cove captures a perfect picture each evening. If you decide to settle here, the beachfront restaurants, such as Tigre Morado, offer incredible cocktails and cuisine to pair with the unfolding magic.
Cap des Falcó
Best time to go: 20 September to 20 March
Not far from the airport, you’ll find the quiet and less frequented beach of Es Codolar. The pebbly beach may make this less popular than any golden-sanded neighbours, although this is soon forgotten when you catch a glimpse of the sunsets from Cap des Falcó (the southern end), which are truly incredible.
You can get to this spot from the road to Las Salinas beach by following the signs on the right to the secluded restaurant, Experimental Beach.
Las Salinas
Best time to go: 10 October to 4 March
The salt lakes of Las Salinas are a unique and spectacular way to catch the winter sunset. Reflected over water, the stunning melding of orange, pinks, and purples is cast in double-vision, creating an unmatchable vision of beauty.
It truly is a sight to behold, and you’ll see many others walking and cycling on the dirt tracks, near the big mound of salt (you can't miss it), to enjoy the moment of natural majesty. To get here, follow the signs for Las Salinas beach, pull in at one of the parking spots, and take a stroll to capture it at your leisure.
Es Vedrà
Best time to go: All year
Looming almost eerily off the south coast of Ibiza is the towering rock of Es Vedrà, an islet that raises as much controversy as it attracts people to go and see it. Many urban myths surround it, from it being the third most magnetic place on Earth, to the tip of the sunken city of Atlantis, and even the island that inspired the sirens in Homer's Odyssey.
Whilst it's unlikely that any of these are true, the magic of the place has most likely inspired these legends.
You can see it from various points on the Ibizan coast: from Cala d'Hort beach, or from many points on the southwest coast. However, please make sure to read the following interview to ensure you tread carefully and respect the surrounding nature when doing so.
Benirrás beach
Best time to go: 5 April to 7 September
Located on the north side of the island, about 10 minutes from San Miguel by car, lies the beautiful rustic cove of Benirrás beach. A pretty, sandy, and slightly pebbly beach, it offers picturesque views of the rock formation known as Cap Bernat, colloquially known as the "Finger of God".
This beach's sheltered and intimate nature makes it a popular spot, where beachgoers laze from day to night to enjoy the changing scenery. Whilst you are there, check out the hippie market and take a seat at Elements Ibiza for food and drink, where you can enjoy its boho-chic interior and the delightful vantage point it affords for stunning sunset views.
Be aware that parking is limited, and it will become increasingly busy as twilight time approaches.
