Omitted on technicalities from our clubbing calendar, I think we can all agree that the return of the king of the sunset strip, Café Mambo Ibiza, is a date to save. This Friday the 17th of May, Mambo flings wide its doors for 2013, welcoming in sun, sea air and most importantly… you!
The opening party kicks off at 7pm, with Mambo residents Jason Bye, Pete Gooding, Andy Baxter and Matthew Charles all providing your excellent sunset ‘tunage.' Oh and one other guy will be there – whatshisface – John Digweed. That's right, Café Mambo Ibiza has enlisted the most capable DJ services of the legendary Digweed for a special post-sunset set that will bring in the 2013 season with a serious BOOM. This amazing free party will run until late, but if you can ever tear yourself away from the water front, the celebrations will continue afterwards at Pacha, where John Digweed will be returning to the decks for round two. The far end of the strip will be going off this Friday, as we predict the revelry to spill out onto the rocks and into the sea – as per!
Mambo long ago transcended the status of merely a place to have a drink and watch the sunset and has been throwing hugely successful events of every description since its inception. It's an absolute right of passage for all Ibiza pilgrims and for seasonnaires and islanders – well it's a really, really good local! We can't wait to see what events Mambo has in store for Ibiza 2013 and the debut party of the year is shaping up to be a promising beginning.
